from her to eternity
By Sameen Shakya
poem
cw: grief
If you see her tell her I love her still
The rain washed her away
Though it was my own fault
If you see her tell her I miss her still
Death couldn’t split us apart
The nights were ours
The nights are ours
Though I had to till the earth
Though I had to set her free
From the box that held her body
So cold I had to hold her
To make her warm
Then the rain
Tore us apart
Once again
But that one’s on me
The ground was soft it didn’t take much
For her to slip away so
If you see her corpse tell her I love her still
If you see her corpse tell her I miss her still
